Responsibilities of this department include maintenance of all city-owned park and recreational facilities, coordination and planning of recreational activities and programs, and coordination of summer camps for ages 3-5 and 6-11. The department is supervised by the Parks and Recreation Director, and staffed by a full-time maintenance supervisor and seasonal staff members. The Parks and Recreation Commission also assist with these activities.
The department offers several programs to residents of all ages. Seasonal children’s programs include a "Easter Eggstravaganza", "Breakfast with Santa", Fall Festival and Parade. Detailed information is included in the Rock Hill newsletter, which is distributed to all residents.
