Responsibilities of this department include coordination and planning of recreational activities and programs, and coordination of the Rock Hill summer Day Camp for children ages6-12. The department is supervised by the Parks and Recreation Director. Park maintenance is provided by the Public Works Department. The Parks and Recreation Commission also assist with these activities.
The department offers several programs to residents of all ages. Seasonal children’s programs include a "Easter Eggstravaganza", "Saturday Morning with Santa", Fall Festival and Parade. Detailed information is included in the Rock Hill newsletter, which is distributed quarterly to all residents through the Webster/Kirkwood Times. Anyone interetsted in volunteering or having ideas about new programs should contact the Parks and Recreation office.
