The Rock Hill Police Department provides 24-hour Police and Dispatching service to the residents of Rock Hill, 365 days per year.

All officers are certified through the State of Missouri as being qualified under the State of Missouri training requirements for Police Officers. Officers are required to complete 48 hours additional training every 3 years for their post-certification.

In addition to the required training all officers receive specialized training in different aspects of law enforcement. The specialized training includes domestic violence, child abuse, juvenile, narcotics and gang investigations and traffic.

Full police service is provided for the city of one square mile, with approximately 2,200 homes, and a population of about 4,800 people. Due to the large number of businesses located within the city, the transient population between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. increases to an amount in excess of 10,000.

The burglary and other related crime offenses are the lowest in St. Louis County. The Rock Hill Police, in addition to routine patrol and calls for service, provide the following programs for the benefit of residents:

  1. Home security evaluations
  2. Vacation checks
  3. Juvenile officer
  4. Fingerprinting available for the Citizens of Rock Hill for employment purposes
