Code Enforcement
Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrol and inspect areas for code violations
- Respond to complaints of potential code violations related to occupancy, nuisances, construction, zoning, animals, housing conditions, and more
- Enforce compliance of property maintenance, nuisance, and zoning codes when violations are found
Examples of issues handled by the Code Enforcement Department:
- Bushes and trees overgrown onto the right-of-way
- Construction hours of operation
- Dead trees, tree limbs, or bushes/shrubs
- Exterior structure in disrepair (chimneys, doors, hand/guard rails, roof, shutters, walls, windows, decks, driveways, stairs)
- Fences in disrepair
- Tall grass and weeds (over 7 inches)
- Trash, rubbish, garbage, or debris on private property
- Stagnant, foul, or dirty water or liquid discharged or allowed to accumulate on public or private property to the injury and annoyance of the public
