Patrol Services

The Rock Hill Police Department provides 24/7 police coverage to its citizens.  Some of the services provided are:

  • Directed Patrols - Police Officers work closely with citizens and businesses within targeted areas to address concerns or complaints. Directed patrols work to address specific types of crimes, problem areas or general area of citizen concerns through increased contacts, community policing, increased officer visibility and extra patrols.
  • Schools - Police Officers conduct school walkthroughs for routine safety checks and also to build and enforce positive police relationships with the school staff and students.  As requested, the Police Department conducts safety presentations for the students and staff on a regular basis.
  • Fingerprinting - We provide ink fingerprinting services FREE of charge for the residents and those who work within the City of Rock Hill.
  • Juvenile Officer -  A dedicated juvenile Officer trained in working with both juveniles and the juvenile court system.
  • Traffic Unit - Traffic unit enforces traffic laws, conducts crash investigations, assist with parades, assist with funeral escorts and other special events as requested.  Upon special request, the Police Department can deploy its Speed Trailer in areas of concern.
  • Investigations Unit - The Detective Unit is available 24/7 and is currently staffed by a one Detective.  The Detective handles investigations, conducts follow-up investigations, handles internal affairs investigations and media contacts.   The Detective also conducts home safety and security checks as requested by residents and city businesses.
